This post is coming a couple months late but better than never. Those who know me know that I love food. I don’t have a sugar addiction like I once did but I still enjoy eating ten times more than drinking. I will go out with friends for drinks sometimes but only if there are snacks at the bar. There is something very satisfying about chewing and swallowing good food.
In my opinion, some of the best food ever is at the annual Epcot Food and Wine festival. The world showcase at Epcot is basically a gathering of different countries throughout Epcot and for a couple months a year they all bring our their best dishes to taste. Essentially, you have 30 plus countries with all this delicious taste sized portions waiting to be consumed. My stomach has shrunk so much that I can’t eat like I used to but I still had time to savor the Berebere beef from Africa, the filet with mushrooms from Canada, the spicy thai shrimp curry from Thailand, the fish and chips from England (of which I had seconds) and the cheese tray from a place I don’t remember.
For each item you purchase you can opt for the wine, beer or cider pairing (for a fee of course) but it completes the tasting. I have been to the Aspen Food and Wine Festival in Colorado a few years back and honestly this experience at Epcot was better.
A couple tips if you are thinking of heading down there next fall. Do not go at lunch time. The lines for food are way way too long. Go in the mid afternoon or for an early dinner. So much better. Walk clockwise so you can hit all the out of the way food booths before you get too full. Bring some wet wipes with you. All the food can get messy. Overall, I love going there and come back full!
